For our 50-year anniversary we have created a very special camera: the Roundshot 28-220 Champagne Edition. This collector camera has a special champagne finish and holds the name of the photographer engraved on the camera head. 50 cameras only - for 50 years of Seitz!

With the Software Release 3.95 we have achieved some far-reaching improvements of this digital panorama camera: stable USB connection for quick data exchange, enhanced precision of controls and engine, new software functions and the possibility to use lenses with a focal length up to 300mm. Thanks to the Roundshot Scanning technique you can create seamless panoramas with very high quality and highest resolution - without stitching passages. The new software release makes it possible: the VR Drive is now compatible with all digital cameras.

The technical solution is very simple: thanks to the semi-automatic control mode the VR Drive can position the digital camera without an electronic release cable. The images are released manually on the camera.

This combined with improved electronics (72 stops, even more precise control, anti-vibration) allows professional results for all virtual reality photographers.

After months of engineering and programming we are happy to announce the latest addition to the Roundshot family: our Livecam for the internet.

The Roundshot Livecam is the first webcam of its kind with professional image quality (files in raw format of up to 80MB) and in an attractive, seamless 360° format. Because we use a technology from high-end photography rather than video streaming, even compressed web-panoramas (file size ˜100KB) are amazingly sharp. This allows zooming of up to 20 x.

From professional digital imaging we have gone a few steps further.

• We have programmed a very powerful image database that makes it possible to look up an image for any moment in time, either as a compact web panorama (˜100 KB) or as a high resolution panorama
  (˜4 MB, 5 images per day).
• Building on this database, we have created a movie program that allows the visitor to compose his own sequence of images, over a day, a month or an entire year.
• Finally, the E-Card feature allows the sending of personal electronic image greetings to the whole world.

This new product comes as a complete plug & play system with

• professional digital camera in a massive, weather-proof metal case that delivers high resolution digital 360° panoramas continuously
• a large memory and data base to store the images
• a professional web server that uploads the images continuously on the internet
• a full livecam software offering attractive functions

The new features of latest software update for our VR Drive are substantial and allow far-reaching improvements:

• Expansion to 72 stops (instead of 36), allowing even more degrees of freedom (more overlaps) for digital panoramas as well as improving the flow of images for object movies
• Gradual (slower) starting and stopping of the movement of the VR Drive, thus reducing potential vibrations when taking the digital image
• Even more precise positioning through a new electronic control unit

We have created a new model especially for the Chinese group photography market, the Roundshot Super 60. As a sister model to the Roundshot Super 220 VR, this camera offers greatest sharpness, contrast and depth of field, ideal for taking panoramas of large groups where the level of detail is of greatest importance.

The new camera comes with a completely redesigned Super software that is adapted for the specific needs of the Chinese group photographer. A special, simplified user interface reduces the functions to the essentials. Graphical symbols along with a software menu in Chinese allow greater ease for the user, thus having the system ready within a few seconds for the shot.

A warm welcome to Roundshot!  

Never has the control of our top model been as simple. The new software offers, apart from extended functions such as film settings and choice of parameter, an entirely new graphical user interface. Over easy graphics the navigation in the software is very simple and easy to use.

The software version 4.0 is available for all customers as of now (article number 3100). A preview of the software is included in the instruction manual for the Super 220 VR (pdf).

New accessories for Super 220 VR:

Small and light battery (article number 3102) 12V 4.5A
Only half as heavy as the previous battery but at least as powerful. Ideal for expeditions for which every gram of weight bears heavily.

Power battery (article number 3103) 12V 9.0A
Doesn't leave you powerless even under the most extreme conditions. Its operating time is 3 times as high as for the previous battery. An absolute must for those photographers that work often in nature and have no possibilities to recharge.

For 2004 we have restructured the Roundshot pricelist with a view to offer the best to our customers.

Oftentimes our customers require the same sets to produce Quick-Time Virtual Realities and object movies efficiently. That's why we have created the Roundshot VR Drive Panorama set and the Roundshot VR Drive Objectmovie Set while, at the same time, reducing price.

For our Roundshot 28-220 and Super 220 VR we have made certain accessories that are not always required optional (telrad viewfinder and waterproof case). At the same time we have been able to lower price for those products as well.

Reduction in price - but not in quality. Every single part is cast from solid blocks of metal by highly precise CNC machines which allows to produce our cameras at the same outstanding quality. Every camera is numbered and a unique piece.
