| | D3 computer and price list update | 24.4.2007 | | For next month Motion Computer brings a new and enhanced tablet PC to the market - just in time for the launch of our Roundshot D3! The Motion LE1700 incorporates the latest and most advanced computer technology: Intel Core 2 Duo processor (4 MB Cache, 1.5 GHz) up to 4 GB RAM, Gigabit Ethernet, up to 6 hours battery time, WLAN and a very user-friendly outdoor-readable touch screen. Thanks to this new processing power Roundshot D3 photographers will be able to process large amounts of data directly in the RAM of the computer. This is particularly important when using larger focal lengths or when creating more sophisticated software features such as single-pass or multi-pass HDR. For the convenience of our customers we have created the following new (and renamed) Mobility Sets: - Mobility Set "Compact" (ideal for Seitz 6x17 Digital)
- Mobility Set "Premium" (with 2 GB RAM)
- Mobility Set "Magnum" (with 4 GB RAM)
The Mobility Set "Premium" offers the latest in technology at the same price as the previous "Maxi" Set. We have included these new Sets in our updated D3 price list. At the same time, the new price list contains a larger variety of high-end Alpa, Schneider and Rodenstock lenses for Roundshot D3 along with more complete lens data that will make the lens choice easier (i.e., effective focal length, image circle, shift capabilities). The good news is that these lenses are freely interchangeable between the Alpa family of cameras (Alpa 12 SWA, WA, TC, XY) and the new Roundshot D3! | | Our Livcam network continues to grow
| 28.03.2007 | New altitude record: Roundshot Livecam at daunting 2800 metres (9200 feet) above sea level (Les Menuires, France) A growing number of our customers recognise that a Roundshot Livecam is a great marketing tool. The Livecam allows a website visitor to see the landscape in a very realistic and impressive way. >>> to the Livecam Reference Installations The ski resorts of the Trois Vallées in France (Val Thorens, Les Menuires, Courchevel and Méribel) set the example of how to use a live-panorama for professional web communications. The launching of the new Roundshot webcams has created a lot of website traffic and media attention for our new customers. What is also new and very innovative is that the Trois Vallées are introducing a new multimedia portal where visitors can load the different cameras and plunge into a world of experiences >>> to the multimedia portal The new Livecam experience (Val Thorens, France)
But also in the field of construction site monitoring and documentation Roundshot webcams become more and more popular. The main reasons for this is that the Roundshot camera captures a seamless 360° panorama (important for larger construction sites) and that its high resolution allows a very comfortable zoom (up to 20 times). | | D3 cameras at Focus on Imaging | 21.2.2007 | | Come and visit us at Focus on Imaging 2007 in Birmingham/England! | | The project is progressing and we will be introducing the new Seitz 6x17 Digital and Roundshot D3 cameras shortly. We initially planned to provide sample images at the end of January and start the workshops in February 2007. However, we would like to introduce additional hardware and software features on which we are currently working. For the hardware, the new Seitz 6x17 Digital will be more compact (6 cm less wide). Also, we will incorporate shift on the 6x17 lens adaptor. For both the Seitz 6x17 Digital and Roundshot D3 a strong NiMh battery will be integrated in the camera body. These changes among other smaller modifications are introduced to further enhance convenience for the photographer. On the software side, we are programming some completely new features, such as a new automatic white balancing and High Dynamic Range (HDR) on the raw image. Also, digital photographers will be excited to hear that the D3 software will allow saving the image in .dng (raw), making it possible to convert the raw file in many open raw converters. More interesting software features will follow in spring 2007. Before we introduce the new cameras we would like to completely finalise the hardware and software components. This is why we expect to release the sample images and start the workshops in April 2007.
