Thomas Weber, Ursula Capaul and André Oldani are the manufacturers of the legendary ALPA of Switzerland, a medium-format camera of worldwide acclaim and undisputed precision. In 1996, they acquired the rights for the ALPA brands and revived, remodelled and completely redesigned the camera, positioning the ALPA at the very top of the professional market. The ALPA team surprises again and again with new products and fresh ideas.

 

 

Leo Meier (1951)

Leo Meier is recognised as one of Australia's leading photographers. To date he has photographed more than 20 books, many of which necessitated epic journeys into some of the world's most remote regions. Additionally, he has contributed to 29 international books as well as many world wide magazines. In 1975 he participated in an expedition to the wilderness of the Philippine island of Palawan and in 1985 he spearheaded a film crew through China for the production of a book and TV documentary about the Chinese Revolutionary Army under Mao Tse Tung. In 1989 the Australian Government presented a collection of his work to the people of France as a contribution to the bicentenary celebration of the French Revolution. Leo's expertise spans 25 years and covers photography, printing, graphic arts, design, digital imaging and desktop publishing. Over the years, Leo has designed and built a large array of unique and specialised equipment. His collaboration with Seitz Phototechnik AG led to the production of the "Mother Roundshot" large format panorama camera, which spawned today's generation of Roundshot cameras.

Yu Wang (1973)

Yu Wang started his photography career at age 18 and was the first Chinese photographer who used a large-format camera (mainly 4 x 5 inch and 8 x 10 inch) for advertisement photography, thus pionieering the use of panoramic cameras in unique ways. Thanks also to his contribution more and more people in China have developed a liking for both large format cameras and panorama advertisements. Yu Wang has worked many years as the chief photographer for Chinese fashion magazines such as "Horologe" and "Fashion Magazine" and often directs advertisement shootings for international brands such as Benz or Omega. He also likes to share his photographic knowledge and works as a tutor at the Tsinghua Arts Institute, teaching majors in photography.

Gerald Blauermel is Editor-in-chief of PHOTOGRAPHIE, which ranks among the
three largest German language photo magazines, reaching a German, Swiss and Austrian readership: advanced amateur, semi-pro and professional photographers. Every issue of this magazine contains up-to-date product news and trends, its reviews and reports cover in-depth product, technical and personal features as well as cultural and creative aspects. The corresponding website www.photographie.de features articles from the print edition and provides many services (online workshops, photo contests, exhibitions, and more) complementing the content of the magazine.

 

 
 

David Roark (1958)

David has been a photographer for the Walt Disney Company for over 20 years. With a staff of 5 photographers and 2 producers, he is responsible for all advertising and media/news still photography for the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida (where he is based). His group also provides photography to other areas of the Disney company to include Disney Cruiselines, Disney Vacation Club, Disneyland & Disney's California Adventure, Disneyland Paris, Tokyo Disneyland and Hong Kong Disneyland (opening in September 2005). He has been a fan of the Roundshot camera for over 20 years and has a Roundshot photo featured in Joseph Meehan's book "Panoramic Photography".
