With the new "speed mode" the Roundshot VR Drive releases the digital camera non-stop. The Roundshot VR Drive "s" allows new fast speed applications and a much higher productivity.

  • Did movement of clouds or people in the image pose a problem for stitching before? No longer!
  • The new "s" mode makes manual positioning look medieval. Impress your client. Work faster. Focus on the essential.

The VR platform for your digital camera from inside ...

Creating digital panoramas quickly and cost-efficiently?

The VR Drive Panorama Set lets you do exactly this.

This electronic turning platform is driven by an electronic engine. Almost any digital camera with electronic release can be attached.

The VR drive activates the shutter through an electronic impulse. After starting the platform, each shot is released quickly and accurately at every stop until the rotation is complete.

You can then combine the resulting series of individual frames in your stitching software on the computer to produce a digital panorama.

VR-Drive-Erklärung-sphärisc.jpg

... as well as all the way around!

The VR Drive is the ideal tool to create virtual realities.

You can make traditional cylindrical panoramas with it.

Or you may create spherical and cubic worlds with multi-row technology.

Do you need higher resolution? The camera can be shifted up- and downwards in its nodal point, which yields, through overlapping images (multi-row technology), a higher resolution.

That's how you can achieve a very high image quality.

Use your own digital camera

The VR platform is controlled electronically. Virtually all digital SLR camera can be used and can be fixed to the solid VR bracket - even heavier digital cameras.

Most cameras of Nikon, Canon, Kodak, Fuji, Sony, Olympus, Panasonic, Leica, Sigma, Hasselblad and Mamiya are compatible with the VR Drive. For an exhaustive list click here:

>>> compatible digital cameras

In the "speed mode" the VR Drive can complete a full 360° rotation in just 8 seconds and release up to 40 images* - or up to 5 images per second! It works with the following maximum shutter speeds:

360° rotation time (TI) ... max. shutter speed

  • 8 seconds ... 1/1000 sec.
  • 12 seconds ... 1/666 sec.
  • 40 seconds ... 1/200 sec.
  • 50 seconds ... 1/160 sec.

Choose the stitching software which fulfills your needs

There is a very large (and growing) choice of stitching software available. Each software solution is optimised for a specific task.

The VR Drive works with all available software choices. From our own experience we recommend:

Kolor Autopano Pro + Autopano Giga

PTGUI

For a complete list of software choices and other useful resources please visit the site of IVRPA - the International VR Photography Association:

http://ivrpa.org

We recommend that you download a trial version of the software and get familiar with the workflow before making your choice.

The new Panorama Calculator, exclusively developed for the VR Drive, calculates the parameters that are relevant for the panorama with a few mouse clicks. The calculator supports cylindrical (Multi Row) spherical panorama projections and includes a Bracketing Calculator for HDRI / DRI photography. No trial version available. For more details please visit the following website: http://panorama-factory.ch

Gain valuable time ...

Times are over when you had to do each partial rotation of the camera by hand and had to operate the shutter release manually.

The automatic control of the VR Drive makes it possible to complete the images in significantly less time. Especially professionals who need to produce a large number of digital panoramas can gain valuable time.

Center the camera on the VR drive, determine the nodal point, select the time functions, degrees and the number of pictures and press start - let's go!

See here a step by step guide to quickly create high quality panoramas:

... and precision!

The highly precise electronic control allows results that are impossible to achieve with mechanical or tripod solutions. With the automatic positioning of the VR Drive the photographer does not need to touch the camera or the tripod during the 360° rotation, thus avoiding any vibrations or imprecisions.

Individual control of release and rotation speed, selection of angles in 45° steps, up to 99 releases or positioning stops, ramp function, repeat function and bracketing are very practical and unique features of the VR Drive.

The VR Head (bracket) is equipped with convenient click stops to tilt the camera in the nodal point by +/- 15°, +/- 30°, +/- 45°, +/- 60°, +/- 75° and +/- 90°, making it possible to complete a spherical panorama in a few seconds.

VR Drive - from inside, all the way around and from outside!

The turntable set converts the VR Drive into a professional object movie solution.

The camera is placed on a tripod and automatically takes the frames to create an animated object movie.

No lost images, smooth positioning, a highly productive workflow.

Thanks to its very high precision and the automated workflow of the VR Drive Object Movie Set you have no more positioning worries and can fully focus on photography.

32-bit HDR photography with the VR Drive

The bracketing range of digital SLR cameras is often limited to 2 or 3 f-stops.

With the external camera control software of BreezSys it is possible to overcome this limitation and to create the wider bracketing range required for 32-bit HDR photography.

The VR Drive is driven into every position by using an external starter cable ("quality mode") and the external software controls and triggers the camera bracketing.

This technique allows to create spherical 32-bit HDR images quickly and cost-effectively even under low-light conditions.
