The professional camera for panoramas ...

Original Grafik

Massive, robust and versatile. The Super 220 VR is a valuable instrument for

  • Landscapes, mountains, cities and villages (calendars, pictorials)
  • Science (archaeology and arts history)
  • Buildings (interiors and exteriors)
  • Products (brochures, advertisements)
  • Corporate communication (annual reports)
  • Fashion and style
  • Group photography (companies, schools, conventions, assemblies)
  • Quick-Time VR for static and dynamic sets
... as well as object photography (turntable) ...

Original Grafik

At first there was science. We developed the linear scan mode for institutes that undertake ballistic research on projectiles and use a circle scan technology for that purpose.

But besides that technical application the turntable functions opens up a completely new set of creative applications in arts. Through this technique models (for example faces) can be scanned in a full 360° circle.

... moving mode ...

Then our customers discovered the scanning possibilities of our Super 220 VR and took it further.

That's how they applied the scanning in completely new fields: dynamic scans of athletes, parades and vehicles.

For that the motion of the film is synchronised with the one of the object to capture the full dynamics of the motion.

Examples >>>

... linear mode ...

Equally, the scanning of static, long objects is also possible with the Super 220 VR.

For instance archaeologists use the camera to scan flat reliefs and to document these treasures for posteriority.

But also long machines (for instance printing machines), the wheels of a locomotive or carpets can be photographed in linear mode without distorsions.

... as well as QTVR mode ...

Original Grafik

With a conventional digital camera and electronic release shots of an object from all sides can be done.

These single shots can then be combined to yield a rotating, dynamic product view (QTVR Mode).

... and stereo photography

Original Grafik

Some photographers also work in dual mode, which means simultaneous shots at different apertures (dual bracketing). This delivers best results for sets with VIPs or in time-critical situations.

However, the Super 220 VR Stereo 3D was designed as a true panorama camera. The Super 220 VR can be transformed in a fully functional 3D Panorama camera, this by mounting two camera heads on an optical bench.

The stereo holders can be adjusted variably - ideal for 3D panoramas or even 3D QTVR panoramas. Welcome in the future!

The control unit as the "heart" of the Super 220 VR ...

Original Grafik

The control unit is easy to use and leaves no desires open for the professional photographer.

Selected focal length, apertures, shutter speeds, distance to the object, selected lens, film sensitivity, light readings, mode, bracketing and much much more.

We continuously improve the software in close cooperation with our customers. Because for our Super 220 VR customers only the best is good enough.

... with integrated light meter and exposure correction

Original Grafik

After a pre-scan of the camera you obtain the exact light readings on screen for every degree of the panorama.

These values can be adjusted individually by moving the cursor along the curve or by smoothening the entire curve.

During the shot the camera then turns faster in areas with plenty of light and slower in areas with less light.

That's how strong differences in light can be variably adjusted and the best results can be achieved for every image.

Designed for first class lenses

We have conceived the Super 220 VR for small and medium format lenses of leading manufacturers.

For special requirements the medium format mount can be shifted up and down by 24mm each way.

That's how the horizon can be shifted without having to move the camera from its horizontal position.

Lens mounts are available for small format lenses of Nikon, Leica R, Contax, Canon FD as well as for medium format lenses of Hasselblad, Rollei, Pentax 67, Mamiya 645 and Zenza Bronica.
